The Grand Castle Keep of Hiroshima Castle Enjoy the history of Hiroshima on Tatami

Hiroshima Castle was build by Terumoto Mouri in 1598.

The Grand Castle Keep was destroyed by atomic bomb in 1945 and was rebuilt in 1958.
Hiroshima Castle is surrounded by inner wall and arranged neatly.

In “Hirayagura” in the second fort, there is Tatami.
In this spacious Tatami space with 8 Tatami in 2 rooms, there are reproduction of letters written by Motonari Mouri, who is famous for the story of “three arrows”, to his sons, panel and model of the tower exhibited.

There is also Tatami space in the Grand Castle Keep.
The Grand Castle Keep has become a history museum introducing mainly Buke culture.
It has reproduction of zestful Japanese room in old Samurai residence and you can feel the life of Samurai back in those days.

Also, you can take pictures while wearing Yoroi and Kabuto on Tatami and also enjoy the history of Hiroshima castle town from reproduced tea room and merchant house.
