Itsukusima-Jinaja and Senjo-Kaku Sacred history in Miyajima

“Itsukusima-Jinja”
is registered as world cultural heritage.
It is said to have constructed in 593, more than 1400 years from now.

The still-remaining large construction was arranged by Kiyomori Taira.
Ootorii in the ocean has 16m of height and the daring outlook with Setonaikai on its back is popular all over the world.

There are many other shrines in Istukushima-Jinja such as
“Kiyomori-Jinja”
enshrining Kiyomori Taira and
“Toyokuni-Jinja”
enshrining Hideyoshi Toyotomi.

The biggest one in the island is called
“Senjo-kaku”
with space of 857 Tatamis.

It was used as community place for people during Edo period and they used to put the name of Kabuki actors.

Absolute space with 857 Tatamis should be spacious enough to enwrap people’s energy and laughter.

Miyajima, where people live together with Gods.
Please come and feel the long lasting sacred history.
