“Kyu-Furukawa Garden’
in Kita-ku, Tokyo is an European house and its garden
built as a second house of Zaibatsu house of Furukawa in 1917.

The European house and European garden was designed by Josiah Conder,
“the father of Japanese modern architecture”.

Its outlook is completely European and all the rooms on the ground floor are
in European style but the rooms on the second floor are all Japanese room
with Tatami except for the bedroom.
Surprisingly, there is even a Butsuma.

You need to reserve in advance in order to visit inside the European house.
Mysterious harmony of Japanese and European style that requires a lot of work
makes us even more interested in how these are harmonized.

European/Japanese garden are also must-see with beautiful flowers all year around.

In November, both roses and Japanese maple will be in its highest season.
Waterfall falling from the height of 10m and the tea room
