Pray on the tatami Tatami floored “Miyazu catholic church” and “Amanohashidate”

“Amanohashidate”
in Miyazu Kyoto is one of the representative view called
“Nihon Sankei (the three beauty spots of Japan).
Amanohashidate is a popular tourist spot both inside and outside of Japan;
there is a myth that a ladder to connect the heaven to the mid world collapsed and
remained one at the mid world is Amanohashidate, it has been appeared on Japanese poems,
literatures and open stage in since long ago.
Its length is 3.6km, and you’ll forget the time to see beautiful view that is to see
8,000 Japanese black pines and a contrast between the white sandy beach and
the blues surface of the see from observatories.
One of them
“Sesshu-kan observatory”
is named from a story that Sesshu, who was an active painter in the Muromachi Period, draw
Amanohashidate here.
“Amanohashidate-zu” drawn by Sesshu is assigned to a national treasure.

“Miyazu catholic church”
that built in 1896 and said the 2nd oldest church in Japan.
This church is quite rare because it is tatami floored inside.
Mass is read every Sunday and prayers on the tatami by seiza pray to the altar.
There is a silent space that the light from stained grass shines into the tatami.
Miyazu is a suitable place with solemn words like “myth” and “pray”.
