Why can’t you be relaxed on the tatami and try “Yakata-bune (houseboat)”, a sightseeing in Japan on the water?
For example, people can enjoy loving cherry blossoms in the spring, seeing flower works in the night sky in the summer, and seeing the beautiful night view in the clear air in the winter.

 

It is very grateful experiences to see beautiful views in Japan and to feel traditions in each season for tourists from not only Japan, but also from abroad.

 

There is

“Yakatabune (houseboat)”

in Japan.

Yakatabune is a boat with a tatami floored room and a roof to enjoy seeing the view on the water.

It was used for entertainments by nobles in the Heian Period.

 

It was prospered in the Edo period, when improved river development.

The samurai in the high state like daimyo enjoyed the flower viewing, the moon viewing, and fireworks. It was called “Wasen”, that is the oldest boat in Japan.

 

In the boat, there is a tatami floored room.

It’s surely marvelous moments to be relaxed on the tatami, to talk with close friends, and to enjoy delicious foods and drinks.

 

If it’s in Tokyo, there are popular courses to see fireworks on the Sumida river, and to see Odaiba and Skytree by going around Tokyo Bay.

 

Though it’s necessary to have a reservation in advance because it’s a crowded season, why can’t you experience the luxury time by Yakatabune in summer?
