Kinosaki, the town for the history and the literature. Very Japanese hot springs and a special local product  “Izuhi noodle”

Toyooka city is located in the north part of Hyogo.
It’s the largest city in Hyogo, and known as the habitat of the last stork in Japan.

Storks are birds designated as a precious national treasure.
Such storks got in hot water of
“Kinosaki Hot Spring”
in Toyooka city to heal their injuries, and it’s said the origin to discover Kinosaki Hot Spring.

Kinosaki is a famous hot spring spot in Japan that has 1300 years of history from the Heian Period
and loved by famous great writers, and it’s said the origin of
“visiting public baths”
that is to visit several baths in the hot spring spot by
“one-day trip”.

It’s famous that Naoya SHIGA wrote a novel
“At Kinosaki”
by his experiences to visit more than ten times in his life to stay.

Naoya stayed
“Mikiya”
in Kinosaki several times.
His favorite room is still there and it’s able to stay.

It’s a luxurious moment to be in the calmed tatami floored Japanese room with his works on the desk
and to see the Japanese garden that was written on
“A Dark Night’s Passing”.

The Izushi castle town has an old and good townscape, and it takes 30 minutes in the car from Kinosaki.
It’s tasteful to stroll the town by watching the Izushi castle remain, a clock tower
that is a symbol of the town.
There are several restaurants for
“Izuhi noodle”
and they look like the traditional Japanese house.

We’re sure that it’ll be the best moment to eat Izushi noodle on the tatami floored sitting room.
Also, some of them are able to experience making Soba, so why don’t you try it?

Toyooka has the history, hot springs, the literature, and Soba, it means, there are fulfilled
with Japanese attractions.
