A popular tourist spot to feel Japan Vol.6 The town of the history and the world heritage Hiraizumi

At the end of the Heian Period, Hiraizumi in Iwate Prefecture, reigned by
“Oshu Fujiwara clan”
was a place with rich nature and gold.

To create
“ideal world”
there are temples and remains influenced from abroad.
Its historical value and good state were highly evaluated, so that it was designated as a world heritage in 2011.

Especially
“Chuson-ji Temple”
and
“Moutsu-ji Temple”
is famous and a lot of tourists from both inside and outside of Japan are visiting;

“Chuson-ji Temple” has
“Konjikido (Golden Hall)”
designated as a national treasure because various statues of Buddha and remains of successive
eads of Fujiwara clan are kept there, and
“Moutsu-ji Temple”
the garden is designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and the precincts is designated
as a Special Historic Site, it means it has double designation and there are only eight sites in Japan to be.

From the evening of the last day of a calendar year to the mongering of the New Year’s day,
Motsu-ji Temple is lighted up and it’s necessary to see.

Furthermore, the entrance fee is free on these days.

The main hall of the Moutsu-ji Temple has the tatami floor in order, and it’s able to see in
“Yakushi Service”
on the 8th of every month, or Special Admission on October.

Several experiences are able to apply all year round; for example
“Zazen (Sitting Zen Meditation)”
that can calm your mind on the tatami and increase your powers of focus and concentration
“Sutra Transcription (the Buddhist canon)”
that can wash away your doubts and impurities, and so on.

In the winter season, Hiraizumi is a place to wash your mind with snow view and to feel Japan.
