Iwakuni City is located in the most-eastern of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Iwakuni is moderation atmosphere through a year, and the best is the season of cherry blossoms.

Iwakuni has been prospered as a castle town under Iwakuni-jo Castle, that was built by Hiroie KIKKAWA in 1608
and broken in 1616.
The current castle tower was rebuilt in 1962, but it’s on 50m east from the former position to enjoy the view
from “castle mountain”, that has an evaluation of 200m.

And from this, it has become the best viewing spot that is able to see the castle town, all Iwakuni City,
islands in the Inland Sea, and Shikoku, so that a lot tourists enjoy here to see.

There is one of the three most excellent bridges in Japan called “Kintai-kyo Bridge”;
it’s decorated by bloomed cherry blossoms and looks five arches more beautiful.

At a house of Chiyo UNO, who is a literature woman from Iwakuni, you can see her items like a writing desk to create her works while enjoying a Japanese atmosphere by the tatami floored Japanese room and the alcove.

You can sit on the alcove in front of the Japanese room, and enjoy luxury silent time with seasonable trees
and flowers while seeing maintained Japanese garden.

Apart from that, there is a very rare samurai house “Old Mekadake House”, that is a two-story house with
full of Japanese atmosphere in the gate and the tatami floored Japanese room.
So, there are a lot of the view spots in Iwakuni.

Iwakuni is the best place to enjoy spring in Japan.
