The origin of Suigun Hot Pot is Geiyo Islands in Seto Inland Sea.
These are small islands in Seto Inland Sea side of Hiroshima Prefecture.

Though Seto Inland Sea is the small sea, it prospered as the sea route to connect from Kyoto to Kyushu, and good fishing industry since long time ago.
The rich water of nutritions comes from the mountain into Seto Inland Sea, and there are a lot of small shrimps and crabs for fishes to eat.

Also, the tide is fast so that fishes grow with rich nutritions and enough exercises, and these fishes are shaping up so that it is famous as delicious fishes in Japan.

People, properties, and the fishes came and went to Seto Inland Sea during the middle age, and several navies were battling to get the right on the sea.
Navies meant pirates at that time.

There were strong men on the ship; they saved their friends’ fishing boats and transports, but attacked and attacked other ships to get money.
They were both dependable and scary.

The biggest navy was Murakami Suigun Navy.
Murakami Suigun Navy was separated into three, and they built castles in each island.
They often cooperated and fight.

They ate this Kachidoki Hot Pot before battles.
The reason why an octopus was put on it is for the luck; an octopus has 8 legs, and it meant to win their enemies from 8 directions.
