Tottori Prefecture is located in the Japan Sea side in Chugoku District, Japan.
It is the smallest population in Japan.

During the winter, it is the heaviest snow area, but during the spring and the autumn, the weather is good with the rich nature.
In Tottori, there are a lot of tourist spots, that should be proud to the world, so recently, a lot of tourists from abroad have come and visited here.

The main attraction of Tottori is, of course, Tottori Sand Dunes.
It is designated as a national monument, and it is the largest sand dunes in Japan.

Tottori Sand Dunes are 2.4km from north to south, and 16km from east to west.
More than 1,500,000 people have visited here throughout a year.

“The Sand Museum” is a museum, that exhibits “sand sculptures”.
Its concept is “world travel in the sand”.

Sand sculptors are invited from all over the world to make sculptures.
Its theme is different each year, and various works are exhibited here.

Now, it exhibits the 12th period “world travel in the sand ~South Asia Ver~”.
Sand arts were done by 21 sand sculptors from 10 countries, and they are exhibited till 2020/1/5.

After this exhibition period, sand sculptures are back to the sand; it is a bit sorrowful.
It is not forever, we should see this “limited period beauty”.

Fukube Town is near from Tottori Sand Dunes, and there is also an attraction in Tottori, “scallion fields”.
Scallions are the one of specially in Tottori; its amount of products is the best in Japan.

It is planted during the midsummer, and from the end of October to the beginning of November, just now, it blooms beautiful red-purple flowers.

These red-purple flowers in front of greens are the superb view; it attracts people.

Then, why aren’t you healed your fatigues by sightseeing in the historic hot spring village?

There are a lot of attractive hot springs; for example, “Tottori Hot Spring” that takes 5 minutes in a walk from Tottori station, “Yoshioka Hot Spring” that is a village of firefly for 1,000 years, “Hamamura Hot Spring” that is able to see the Sea of Japan and loved by a great writer Yakumo Koizumi, “Shikano Hot Spring” in a castle town in a mountain valley, “Iwai Hot Spring” that has 1,300 years of history and the oldest in the mountain recess, and so on.

When you lie on the tatami after taking the bath, you can feel the Japanese atmosphere with comfort.

During the autumn in Tottori, why don’t you enjoy the grand sand dunes, sand sculptures, flowers of scallions, and hot springs?
