Kunieda Co. was established in the 35th year of the Meiji era (1902) as a textile wholesale trades company.
It has been over a century since the company established and our main business activity has evolved into the manufacturing and sales of tatami products.Over the years, we have developed:
• our products with the traditional sturdy yet safe sewing method,
• developed the technology to produce thin tatami targets towards new generation home,
• highly designed tatami without edges
• Functional tatami with floor heating features.
We have also proactively introduced manufacturing facilities that can produce these type of tatami products.
The company continue to evolve with new challenge, we actively promote new technological development and facility development/introduction, in order to make tatami with new shapes, sizes, and functions that been said to be impossible to actualize. With this effort we have jumped out of the traditional Japanese style room and realized the collaboration with Western-style rooms; and so, we have made it possible to provide our TATAMI to customers with multifarious requests.
